CodeLance newsletter September 2003
Dear CodeLance member,
The last few months have seen a tremendous growth in almost all aspects of activity at CodeLance. In many areas (membership, daily visits, projects posted, etc.) we have almost doubled in size since April! This is great news for all concerned: more buyers means more projects for developers and more developers means more choice and market conforming rates for buyers. Thank you for making CodeLance so successful.
REFERRALS PROGRAM
The good news doesn't end there, though. We have recently put together our referrals program, the details of which can be found here:
http://www.codelance.com/referrals.html
In a nutshell, buyers or developers referred by you earn you money whenever they carry out a project at CodeLance. Please take the time to review the finer details at the above URL, it could be to your benefit! As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments or suggestions.
FEATURED PROJECTS
As you may remember, we introduced the concept of "featured" projects some time ago. Despite the benefits which a featured project brings to both buyers and developers I think it's fair to say that the uptake so far has been a little disappointing. Conversely, I know from my communications with many members that the benefits of featured projects are very much in demand (especially the facility to disclose details of sample work during the bidding phase). I'm not quite sure why this paradoxical situation has arisen but it's a conundrum I'm determined to solve. Watch this space for further details!
In the meantime if you would like a reminder of the differences between featured and non-featured projects the following page should help:

PROJECT AND BID DESCRIPTIONS
If I had to make one request to all CodeLance members at the moment it would be simply this:
"Please make sure your project and bid descriptions are as full and detailed as possible!"
Some members have a tendency to post very short project and bid descriptions which leads to a lot of (unnecessary) additional correspondence at a later date. Please try to be as comprehensive as possible right from the start, it makes life easier for everyone in the long run!
IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS
That's about it for now, other than to say that if you have any comments or suggestions on how we can improve the site please don't hesitate to drop me a line. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Rod Morris
