IMAGINE FINDING THE PERFECT SOFTWARE DEVELOPER FOR YOUR PROJECT...
FINDING GOOD PROGRAMMERS - NOT AS EASY AS IT SOUNDS
When we started building the CodeLance community in 2001 we quickly came to appreciate the value of good software development, and how difficult it can be to find someone you can trust to make your ideas a reality. It's relatively easy to find people who say they can help you, it's much more difficult to find someone who genuinely can.
WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT?
After 5 years in this business we think the issue is largely one of anonymity on the Internet. Essentially, it's easy for people to make all kinds of claims without having to back them up (or without running the risk of being found out). This is especially true in some of the larger marketplaces where members feel they can overstate their skills and abilities in an attempt to win a software development project in the hope of making a quick buck. New buyers often lack the experience to know what questions they should ask before investing time (and money) with a particular developer.
DOES IT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY?
We don't think so, and we'd like to think that the satisfied buyers and developers at CodeLance would agree with us. Imagine a marketplace for software buyers and developers large enough to be of value to both parties but small enough to provide individual attention to every single member during the project bidding process, that's CodeLance.
HOW IS CODELANCE DIFFERENT?
We work hard to encourage a high degree of communication between the buyer and interested developers during the bidding phase of a project - lack of communication during the bidding phase is the number one underlying cause of failed projects. We review each and every bid and message submitted by ordinary members (CodeLance supporters' communications are exempt from this process) to ensure that a minimum standard is adhered to. Although we have thousands of registered members we remain absolutely committed to ensuring that each and every one has a positive experience at CodeLance and avoids the pitfalls commonly encountered elsewhere. In real terms that means not only providing a functional web site where projects can be posted and bid on, but support and advice geared towards making each project a success.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO NOW?
If you'd like to join our community, as either a buyer or developer, create a free account now. There's no obligation and you can start using CodeLance immediately. We look forward to welcoming you as a new member!
